Theory and Analysis
Name Origin
Bangor, in English, is the name of countless communities and cities across the world. However, the Japanese root, Bango, could mean the following: 1. (bango) barbarian language 2. (bangohan) dinner 3. (bangÅ?) series of digits, such as Social Security or Phone # 4. (bangÅ?) eternity. None of these are likely, especially since options 3. and 4. violate the proper pronunciation of the Japanese equivalent.
