Event Geography

This is a Zeal chapter.

  • This chapter would probably continue developing Schala's relationship with the Frozen Flame and the running plot element of a simmering Earthbound rebellion. The Aethymorph released earlier wreaks havoc during the Nocturne Festival, maybe creating some really great scenes in which Schala gets chased by this thing through pitch dark hallways.
  • The release of the Aethyrmorph prompts Dalton to suspect sabotage of Bekkkler's laboratory by someone operating within the security detail there, especially in light of the fact that the royal family was allowed right in under questionable circumstances earlier. Schala has a chance to confront Grishe, who is brought out of stasis to undergo questioning regarding any illicit Earthbound activity of which he might be aware. Grishe happens to mention the names of his sons and daughter - Masa, Mune, and Doreen - while speaking with Schala in private. Schala says she can do nothing for Grishe now but offers to check on his children for him.
  • Schala descends to Algetty with plans to fulfill her promise to Grishe. Melchior accompanies her for some reason and we learn that Schala knows the ins-and-outs of Earthbound script thanks to her interaction with Earthbound children. Both Schala and Melchior meet Masa and Mune and their big sister Doreen; all three are human children at this point. Grishe's children prove extremely endearing.
  • In addition to the aethyrmorph and maybe another Frozen Flame challenge providing action here, Schala investigates rumors of strange creatures nabbing workers in Zeal's Dreamstone Quarry. This leads to the discovery of a Lavos Spawn and its attendant creatures, which act as protectors and fetch raw materials (carbon from human flesh and bone, dreamstone, etc) to complete the spawn's growth.
