The Bent Sword is the broken blade of the [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Masamune Masamune], a sword forged by the [http://www.chronocompendium.com/wiki/index.php?title=Guru_of_Life&action=edit Guru of Life], [http://www.chronocompendium.com/wiki/index.php?title=Melchior&action=edit Melchior]. In approximately 590 A.D., a [http://www.chronocompendium.com/wiki/index.php?title=Guardia&action=edit Guardian] knight known as [http://www.chronocompendium.com/wiki/index.php?title=Cyrus&action=edit Cyrus] and his squire [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Frog Glenn] located the [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Masamune Masamune] and battled Melchior's two dreams, [http://www.chronocompendium.com/wiki/index.php?title=Masa&action=edit Masa] and [http://www.chronocompendium.com/wiki/index.php?title=Masa&action=edit Mune], for the legendary blade. Much to their dismay, [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Magus Magus] and his troops located Cyrus and easily defeated him, killing Cyrus but transforming Glenn into [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Frog Frog]. The Masamune was split into two halves, its hilt carried by Frog, and the blade lost in the [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Denadoro_Mts. Denadoro Mountains].

In 600 A.D., Crono and his party located the Denadoro Mountains and faced Masa and Mune in order to claim the Bent Sword (that is to say, the Masamune's broken blade). Later, Crono and his party found Frog and proceded to convince him to withdraw the hilt of the Masamune. Eventually, Frog gave up the hilt, and the Bent Sword and Bent Hilt were united once more, forged by Melchior with an amount of Dreamstone obtained from [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Ayla Ayla] in [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/65000000_B.C. 65000000 BC].
