AEHU/Plot/Plot Sketch Chapter 5
"Intermission I"
- In Chronopolis, Belthasar notices that AI FATE has independently accessed historical records. Director Ashtear is brought in to offer her opinion on FATE's actions, and she determines that it has become sentient -- with processing power greater than the human brain, it was only a matter of time apparently. She asks FATE why it's behaving this way but it doesn't respond. Robo offers to help by switching to a higher-functioning operating system (HiROM) capable of tapping into FATE and interpreting what's running through its Visual RAM (VRAM). Then they can at least determine what FATE is looking at. Belthasar worries about how this is going to push back his project, but he gives Robo the go-ahead to do as Ashtear suggests. Dr. Ashtear determines the algorithm FATE is using to encrypt its VRAM and supplies it to Robo in the form of a password.
- Robo switches to HiROM and hacks into FATE. After a short Virtual World dungeon he finds that FATE is examining records concerning the Kingdom of Zeal, starting in 12,001BG. Belthasar and Ashtear watch Robo's on-the-fly reproduction of what's running through FATE's VRAM.
