"Glass Rose"

Through a circuitous course of events Schala ends up in the Darkness Beyond Time. She wanders for awhile in the void until she encounters Lavos freshly arriving after its defeat in Chrono Trigger. Lavos occupies itself by reviewing human history with Schala, and how that history mirrors the history of countless other worlds Lavos has been to prior to its defeat. Images of the Magus, Po'hjol, Raqh, and others bring out Schala's desire to end the cycle. Lavos becomes alarmed when Schala seizes it and forces it to meld with her; she will further develop Lavos' power until it is capable of eliminating the universe. The newly-formed Dream Devourer is in turn devoured by the first Dream Devourer to form in the DBT, augmenting its power.
